This book is told altogether from two alternate points of view. Yahaira, who lives in New York and Camino, who lives in the Dominican Republic. This was something new and fascinating reading for me. I had never read an Elizabeth Acevedo novel, I have never been a huge fan of a book that is exclusively based on siblings and never read a novel written in such manner. In any case, I'm so glad I have now, since I have another freshly discovered love. It is so delightfully written, with so much of raw feelings.
